In Onomichi’s LOG hotel, three dismembered beasts hover above the ground. Despite their unusual appearance, these beasts exude a sense of mild anxiety as they drift in the night sky. They seem to possess a certain intelligence and awareness, they seem to be searching for something, though it is unclear if they will ever find what they are looking for. But for now, they drift peacefully under the starry sky, suspended above the world below.

Through the Undergrowth takes the form of sculptures and site specific installations which include: beeswax coccons and a [tomb woomb] vessel made from tree branches and grafted resin joints shaped by AI and machine learning. This is a body of work that evolves from A Fragmented Garden, a project developed in Japan in 2020 with the support of Arts Council Tokyo in preparation for the Olympic Games.


尾道のLOGホテルでは、バラバラになった3匹の獣が地上に浮かんでいる。風変わりな外見とは裏腹に、夜空を漂う獣たちは、どこか不安げな雰囲気を帯びている。彼らはある種の知性と意識を持ち、何かを探しているように見えるが、探しているものが見つかるかどうかは不明である。しかし、今のところ、彼らは星空の下で平和に漂い、地上に浮かんでいる。

藪を通して彫刻の形を取り、含まれるサイト固有のインストール：蜜蝋の繭と[トゥーム ウーム] AI と機械学習によって形作られた木の枝とグラフトされた樹脂ジョイントから作られた器。藪を通しては、オリンピックに向けてアーツカウンシル東京の支援を受けて 2020 年に日本で開発されたプロジェクト、A Fragmented Garden から進化した一連の作品です。
